May 17 2008

The baby birds hatched!  They're so loud!  The parents keep visiting us at the kitchen window.
Lots of new jewelry on my Etsy website so check it out!  My Mom sent me a bunch of brass and brass jewelry she made when I was little.
I'm going to keep this short because chances are no one will ever read it.

Ode to the flying fiber artists

Well, Etsy has been down for what seems like an eternity today but it's ok.  I'm watching the most amazing thing - it happens every day but still it's so inspiring.
Two noisy little birds are building a nest on the side of my house under an eve.  They're about five feet from where I'm sitting.  It's so beautiful.   They  are building like mad like mad.  I've found nests all over my yard,  in my trees, under my eves etc...
The nests are made of an amazing array of  materials.  I've found the usual twigs, mud, and moss but what really excites me is when I find the white strands of hair from my Puli dog and Angora rabbit in the mix.
These birds are fiber artists in the truest sense!

Metal Sensitivities

I'm going to try using some brass and bronze ear wires for the first time and I'm wondering if  there has been much feedback from customers.

Hello From Goose On The Loose Jewelry!

Hi!  My god I'm a blogger now, what's next!?
This is my first blog ever... mostly I'll be writing about my jewelry, other people's jewelry, etsy
and craft shows.   Hopefully I'll stumble upon some new and exciting techniques and neat things to do with PMC and Art Clay Silver.
Something very important to me and to my art is the rising cost of metals.  I'm trying to find different items to work with, it's a challenge which I look at as a positive thing.  I'd love to hear from anyone else who is facing the rising cost of metals and how it is affecting your art.
I also dabble in photography and have taken part in two group shows.
I'm still trying to figure out how all this blog stuff works so don't be surprised if I post the same thing seven times!
I hope you'll take a look at my etsy shop and the etsy website in general!
My next post will be about my goose.
